The Snowdon Cafe has finally been demolished. As we led a group up towards the summit, our views were even larger than usual, where once the cafe stood, we could now look over south to Moel Hebog. The building site barriers looked strange on the summit. Prince Charles called it the "highest slum in Wales". To the team at Seren Ventures, it was a not great transport cafe. Whilst it's popular to put it down, we have memories of at times much needed shelter for us and clients over the last two years. In it's place will start to rise a new £8.3 million summit centre, due for completion by 2008. We'll bring you news on progress from our guides on the ground and in the air, if the summit winds get too strong!!!! |
