Mini-Coach Tours in Snowdonia

We operate three tours:

Tours operate on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays weekly from April to October Excluding August.
(Other tours on other dates may be available)

Tour #1. Thursdays


Highlights Include:

• Visit to Dolwyddelan Castle, the 13century castle built by Prince Llywelyn (the Great) to guard the mountain pass.

• Visit Ffestiniog Railway and travel 12 miles through the beautiful vale of Ffestiniog on one of their Narrow Gauge Trains (one of ‘The Little Trains of Wales’.

• Coach journey continues to one of Snowdonia prettiest villages Beddgelert. This village stands amongst the wooded hillsides at the south-western gateway to the central peaks of Snowdonia. Free time to take a walk along the riverside, visit some of the craft shops, taste Cadwaladr’s home made ice cream and have a leisurely lunch.

• Drive through the Nant Gwynant Pass into the rocky heights of Snowdonia.


Tour #2. Fridays

Highlights include:

• The drive through the dramatic Llanberis pass past shears rock slabs and huge boulders, this region is a magnate for rock climbers and mountaineers.

• Visit the Welsh Slate Museum. The most Welsh of Welsh industries', the Museum building is sited in the Victorian workshops built in the shadow of Elidir Mountain, site of the vast Dinorwig quarry.

• Visit the mighty Castle at Caernarfon built by Edward 1st as a symbol of English power in 1283 even with its lofty turrets still towering over the town; Caernarfon has lost none of its Welsh character.

• The Ogwen valley and lake.


Tour #3. Saturdays

Highlights Include:

• Visit the Trefriw Woolen Mills where all the traditional processes in the manufacture of tapestries and tweeds are still carried out on the premises.

• Visit the historical market town of Llanrwst one of its many attractions is its three- arched bridge, (b 1636) believed to be the work of Inigo Jones. Nearby is ‘Ty Hwnt i’r Bont’ a former 15th century courthouse restored by the National Trust and is now considered to be one of the best ‘Traditional Welsh Tea Rooms’ in Wales serving mouth-watering home baked scones and the Welsh delicacy, ‘Bara Brith.

• Visit the world famous Bodnant Gardens, 80 acres of Edwardian Naturalistic garden built by the 2nd Lord Aberconwy now managed by The National Trust.

• A Neolithic Burial Chamber of the 3rd millennium BC. (if weather permits)

• Llandudno, one of the classic British seaside resorts with its wide promenade, elegant Victorian facades all perfectly framed on a curving bay between the Great and the Little Orme headlands.
