Mountain biking in Betws-y-Coed

Gwydyr Forest is right on the doorstep of Betws-Y- Coed, the undisputed outdoor capital of North Wales. Situated in the heart of the breathtaking scenery of the Snowdonia national park yet less than an hour from English motorways.

The Gwydyr trail, built in association with Marin bikes, leaves from Gwydyr Forest centre, a couple of miles north of town. Long challenging climbs lead to miles of brand new technical singletrack weaving through trees and boulders, across streams and down snaking ridge lines to get your heart and brakes pumping. Alternatively you can explore the hundreds of km of fire road trails yourself.

Whichever you choose, cascading waterfalls, crystal clear lakes, awe inspiring mountain vistas and forgotten river valleys deep in the Gwydyr forest provide a stunning scenic backdrop.
Meanwhile Betws-y-Coed itself is packed with cafes, restaurants, pubs and outdoor shops as well as an excellent bike shop and a wide range of accommodation in the town and local area.

If you want to stretch your legs and lungs in serious scenery this is the place

Beics Betws has ben operating as a bike hire facility in Betws y Coed for 17 years and is one of the most experienced providers in the UK.

Open seven days a week throughout the year we cater for enthusiasts and beginners alike.

Betws y Coed is rapidly becoming a Mecca for Mountain Biking, home of the famous Marin Route, a challenging 25km ride through the stunningly beautiful Gwydir Forest just 1km north of the village, while to the south of the village there are two further routes totalling 50km soon to open

For the less adventurous riders there is the Llyn Elsi ride: a 10km forest track ride up to the reservoir above the village then a long downhill back to the valley to finish.

For our clients that do not wish to venture off-road there is always the choice of cycling on the scenic lanes and back roads in the locality.

Our hire centre is in the heart of the Gwydyr Forest, Betws y Coed.
