Snowdonia Walking Festival 16 - 17 October

Snowdonia is famous the world over for its majestic rugged beauty. Betws y Coed is long renowned for its stunning scenery, emerald forests and fast flowing rivers; a natural base for a walking festival.


Festival Headquarters

The HQ will be Betws-y-Coed Memorial Hall - located over the Pont-y-pair bridge, all walkers will assemble there to register and meet their walking guides.


All walks will depart from this venue at 10.00am prompt - on both Saturday and Sunday. Mini coaches for some walks will depart from Pont-y-Pair car park next door.

Booking Walks

Bookings for each walk is essential, all walks are guided, and places are limited. Walks on Saturday will be repeated

Costs - low and mid level walks £8 per person high level /mountian treks £15 per person Full payment must be received in advance to validate bookings Cheques only please - made payable to Betws-y-Coed Tourism Association.

Cancellation is the exclusive responsibility of the participant, Booking fees are not refundable
Dogs are not allowed on any festival walks.

Evening Entertainment

On Saturday evening from 8.30 pm there will be free live Welsh entertainment in the following village venues; Pont-y-Pair Bar and Stables Bar

4. Ty Mawr, “The Welsh Bible”, low level


5. Sarn Helen, “Straight walking with the Romans” mid level


6. Gwydir, “Forests, mines and Castell”, low level forest walk


7. Llyn Y Foel, “Quarries and Llynau”, mid level


8. Y Garn, “The arms of the Ogwen”, mountain walk


9. Moel Siabod, “Quarries, Llyns and Mountains”, mountain walk


10. Tryfan, “All hands on rock”, mountain walk


11. Glyderau, “A walk to Everest!”, mountain walk


12. Snowdon, “Traverse the Jewel of Wales”, mountain walk
