If Time Team tickles your tastebuds, a Hillfort Study Day, with guided walk to one of the largest hillforts in Wales, will be just up your street… On Sunday 20th September, visitors are invited to hear presentations from eminent national archaeologists about the Iron Age combined with a 2 mile site visit. The event will include a guided walk to the magnificent hillfort of Penycloddiau, built around 2500 years ago. This hillfort is one of the largest in Wales and sits within a string of these Iron Age enclosures on the Clwydian Range- an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Following the Footsteps of Our Ancestors will run from 10am until 5pm, meeting at Llandyrnog Village Hall, Llandyrnog, near Denbigh and participants are asked to wear suitable clothing and bring a packed lunch. The event has been organised by the Heather and Hillforts Project.
