Celtic Copper Heritage – Amlwch, Anglesey

Celtic Copper Heritage is a European joint project between Amlwch Industrial Heritage Trust and Eastern Regional Fisheries Board funded Interreg IIIA. The project aims are to capitalise on the copper mining heritage of Avoca, County Wicklow in Ireland, and Amlwch on Anglesey in north West Wales. The aim is to generate positive social, economic, cultural and environmental impacts in both areas by preserving, restoring and interpreting the many aspects of these Porth Amlwch retains many original buildings to explore, like the Copper Bins, the Watch House and the Workshop Chimneys.

At the Sail Loft Visitor Centre, enjoy a delicious snack or browse the gift shop but don’t miss the exhibition of Amlwch’s world renowned ship-building heritage. In fact, the Porth is a wonderful place in which to simply relax and watch the activity in the harbour!



The Porth Amlwch Heritage trail forms part of the Anglesey Coastal Path, which is readily accessible from it.

OPENING HOURS
All parts of Amlwch Copper Kingdom can be visited at any time except the Sail Loft Visitor Centre which is open:
Easter to Whitsun: 10am - 2pm

Whitsun to end of Sept: 10am - 5pm
Cafe and FREE entry to Maritime and Copper Mining Exhibition. Heritage trails - Discover Amlwch Port and Parys Mountain. Guided tours available - call 01248 725758
