Now it is time to show it off. So come and experience for yourself this wonderful harvest. Conwy Honey Fair13th September Website The Conwy Honey Fair in North Wales dates back more than 700 years to the reign of King Edward 1st, when local beekeepers were first given the right to sell honey within the walls of the North Wales town, every September 13th, from midnight to midnight, without charge. The right to hold the fair is in the town's Royal Charter. Honey was very important even then, and in a list of expenses kept by Edward 1st at Rhuddlan Castle is an item: repairing a cart of the King's, carrying a pipe of honey from Aberconwy, 1s4d. Mold Food and Drink 20th – 21st September Website The Mold Food and Drink Festival returns again to New Street (Somerfield) Car Park on the 20th and 21st September 2008. There's going to be a fabulous array of produce and ready to eat cooked foods. So come early - and come hungry as breakfast will be available immediately upon opening time. A fully tarmaced festival site - no risk of mud Anglesey oyster & welsh produce festival 10th – 12th October Website Anglesey is proud to host an annual Oyster & Welsh Produce Festival. This year sees the 11th festival take place but it was a very different event in the early years. It used to be an informal social event whereby vast amounts of local oysters & alcohol were consumed - served with a strong music, singing and a Welsh and Irish dance offer. A voluntary committee was formed in 2000 to direct the event into the future. The aim was to broaden the appeal for non seafood lovers, and as a result a Welsh Food Fair was introduced in 2000. Llangollen food festival 18 – 19th October Website The next Llangollen Food Festival will be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of October 2008. At the Royal International Pavilion, Llangollen, North Wales. 10:00 -17:00A major event in the Welsh food Diary, bringing together local produce and expertise for a weekend of foodie fun!" Gwledd Conwy feast 25th – 26th October Website FOOD buffs will come face to face with the raw materials at a North Wales festival this autumn – with a farmyard full of animals. Cows, sheep, pigs, hens, ducks and turkeys will all feature in a covered, NFU Cymru-supervised enclosure on Conwy’s quayside.Gwledd Conwy Feast, on October 25-26, is Wales’ third largest food festival and the biggest in North Wales with around 25,000 visitors each year. |
