Bryn Terfel - Sings Suo-Gan

"They say that being born Welsh
is not to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth,
but music in your heart."

Bryn Terfel has signed up to be a special travel ambassador for his native North Wales.

The bass-baritone opera star, whose family home is near Caernarfon, is happy to sing the praises of the land where he grew up as he issues a personal invitation to visit for a short break.

“North Wales is undoubtedly for me a special and unique place; Snowdonia with its mountains and coastline and countless undiscovered gems. Get off the beaten track and find yourself in countryside which is often magnificent, sometimes magical."

“If the
walking, the castles, the mountains, the scenery, even the golf courses are not enough, then come to the Faenol Festival at the end of August."

“I founded this festival for people to see and hear fabulous musicians perform in the open air in a glorious venue between the Menai Strait and the Snowdonia Mountains."

“It’s a sight to behold, 12,000 people with their candles, champagne and picnics, transfixed by the performances. This is certainly a living dream for a farmer’s son from Pantglas, music and North Wales in perfect harmony.“
