Traeth Llyfn - a peach of a beach!

If you are looking for an unspoilt and peaceful beach to rest or play on, then Traeth Llyfn is well worth a try. It is to be found in North Pembrokeshire, between St. Davids and Fishguard – map reference 803320. Because it is a mile or more from the nearest road, not so many people make the effort. You can walk in along the coast from Porthgain, but I prefer to approach from Abereiddi (Abereiddy) (plenty of free parking at the roadhead) because the walk takes you past the Blue Lagoon. A 20-30 minute gentle coastal ramble brings you to Traeth Llyfn, and a set of steps brings you down to the beach near its centre.

The beach is mostly sandy with lines of interesting rock strata embedded in the sand. It gently slopes into a turquoise sea, and is enclosed by an arc of cliffs. There is plenty to keep the photographer, sunbather, swimmer, beach cricketers and rock-poolers happy
