Just three new greetings cards to report this time, though there is a range of over 200 to choose from now. The picture of Cnicht with a bluebell foreground that is also the front cover of the 2010 Wales Calendar makes a cheerful scene – just the sort of place to linger and soak up the spring sunshine and spring scenery. Also spring-like is a card of a lovely local garden, Llwyn in Pensarn. My personal favourite new card was one of those photographic trips where things just come right at the right time. I had used a map to pinpoint a hilltop near Llangollen that I thought would make a good sunrise viewpoint. I left home at 4am and started walking in the dark some 90 minutes later. I was deep in the mist as I walked to the hilltop, and suspected a wasted effort. As I reached the summit the mist pulled helpfully back into the valley below, but there were still dark clouds blocking out the horizon. Just at the right time and in the right place a big red sun appeared in a small gap in the clouds, which along with the mist below gave me as good a scene as I could hope for. If only every photographic early morning worked like that! To see the new cards, click here. |
